[What kind of housemates does she have, that she has to do that
alone? Poor Kisa-chan! Unless, perhaps they are splitting up the task...
Kisa seems the type who wants to be as unimposing on others as possible. No
matter the situation, this is something he can help with! So he smiles at
her confidently.]
Ah, I see. Then I can certainly help you, if you are willing to accept it.
I have more than enough firewood at my home. It would be my pleasure to
carry over as much as you need to your house.
Really. It does not trouble me in the least, Kisa-chan. [He smiles fondly at her as he gives a slight bow, then rises to his feet.]
Please, come this way. It is not far. [His strides are long though, and he will have to be careful to not outpace the girl... He wishes he could pick her up and carry her all the way there, but it's probably a bit too soon for that between them, isn't it.
His mind wandering for something to talk about, it catches on 'wish'.]
Tell me, did you happen to hear about the 'fairy godmother' quest?
[ Give her a minute to trot after him-- his legs are much longer than hers, so she has to take faster steps. And please don't pick her up, she'd rather not be a tiger. ]
[One day! One day he'll lift her to his shoulders and walk about with her... Ah, nostalgic. (His shoulders are broad - Tiger-version would fit well there, too!)]
[He looks down at her, his eyebrows lifting in surprise.]
No? I think you would be a splendid Fairy Godmother. As well, it will be very helpful to the town, and us, if you can do what quests you can. So let us try it together. I shall be the Fairy Godmother first, to show you what it is like.
[He pulls out a twig that he's been keeping on his person for while this quest is active, and gives it a twirl in the air as Jion had done for him. He is confident in himself, but not so much in his acting, so his cheeks are rosy from more than the brisk cold wind as he intones in a kindly voice,]
I have come to grant your wish, Kisa-dono. This Fairy only has the power to grant a small wish, but shall do his very best.
Not really. That is something completely by my own power. The town gives us the ability to cast magic while we do this quest. So I will grant your wish by that magic.
[He rubs the back of his head absently.] It's not perfect- it seems that something goes just a little strange every time. But it's harmless. Won't you give it a try?
[Kisa-chan, so practical. Tonbokiri was hoping that she would wish for something that he might not be able to usually grant with his own strength, but if that's what she wants...
With a nod of acceptance he flicks the wand.]
Your wish is granted.
[Kind of. Like the other times he's done this quest (except perhaps for the yukimidaifuku?), something is a bit off with this.
What appears before them is a small log, singular, no longer than his hand, cheerfully decorated with pine boughs, tiny red berries, and a red-and-green striped ribbon.
Picking it up, he holds it out to her, laughter in his voice as he says,]
My apologies. Such is the way the town grants wishes.
[Although Tonbokiri is reasonably surprised by the huge leaf, he snatches it out of the air before it can fall down.
He looks at it, looks at Kisa-chan, and starts laughing brightly. The image of him under a leaf like this...!]
This is charming! [He holds the leaf so that it's sheltering him from the wind.] Ohh, pretty effective, as well. It might not last until spring, but I shall use it as long as I can.
I can tell, you did your very best, Kisa-chan. Thank you. [He reaches out to pat her gently on the head to show his gratitude.]
[ Well. He's still doing her way too many favors here, but she won't protest. She'll just figure out a way to thank him properly later, so she moves to do as instructed. ]

[ That she's just going to take his firewood?? This kid is constantly surprised, it seems. ]

But I didn't do it.

[ it's okay, they're both a bit embarrassed here. ]
Aren't you already doing that...? By letting me take some of your firewood?
no subject
Not really. That is something completely by my own power.

[ Is it really that simple? She's honestly not sure, but he seems to really want to do this for her. ]

[ It's almost a waste to toss into a fireplace, but it makes Kisa smile as she reaches out to accept it. ]
... Thank you.

Then, offering her his twig 'wand' he asks,]
Would you like to try to be the Fairy?
no subject
[ Or magical. ]
no subject
You will be just fine. It is not a matter of being good or not, but rather of simply trying.
[The twig is still held out towards her.]
no subject
What... do you wish for, though?
no subject
[Considering the weather, a request comes to mind quickly enough:]
I wish for an umbrella, please. The one I have fell apart even further in the rain yesterday, so it would be very helpful to have a new one.
[[ooc: I leave it to you what goes 'wrong' with it!]]
no subject
[ And to her credit, Kisa does try incredibly hard. She even dramatically swishes the twig, and--
A massive leaf on a massive stalk comes fluttering gracefully down. It's at least the size of an umbrella??
... Hm. ]
... Ah.

[ Because it's. Still. A leaf. And she feels bad, but he's patting her head, so maybe he really doesn't mind it?? ]
no subject
It will. Here, come walk in front of me so I can shelter you from the wind, and we will continue on to get you your firewood.
[ooc: we can tie this one up in a little bit? Unless some slip-up happens along the way... XD]]
